The Kid’s corner will offer free face painting for the young ones, and off course Santa will be present with treats for everyone.

New Year's Eve Cruise

Start the new year on board the all-electric vessel Future of The Fjords, surrounded by the UNESCO world heritage landscape on the Nærøyfjord. The modern vessel has large panoramic windows allowing you great views to the firework even if you want to stay inside one of the warm lounges, and its full universal design make it possible for everyone to join.

The New Years’ Eve Celebration package includes overnight stay at Fretheim Hotel, aperitif around the bonfire, dinner at the hotel, Midnight cruise on the fjord, live music and a welcome drink and a New Year’s toast on the boat.

Fretheim Hotel

The historical Fretheim Hotel and its restaurant Arven is open every day throughout the Christmas season. For a proper Norwegian winter experience, gather around the bon fire in the garden after a day out. On Christmas Eve all guests get a special Christmas present and you may enjoy our large, traditional Christmas buffet in the restaurant.

Food & Beverage

Food and drink are an important part of all travels, and the Christmas period is the perfect time to try some traditional favourites. Restaurant Arven at Fretheim Hotel is open every evening from 19:00. Try the daily 3-course meal or choose from the a la carte menu. A full Christmas buffet is served on 30 November, 7 December and 24 December. New Year’s Eve buffet is served on 31 December.

For lunch, drop by Flåm Bakery for home made sandwiches and pastries. If you fancy something warm, Fretheim Hotel serves soup with bread and butter in the Lobby Bar from 20 December – 2 January between 13:00 – 16:00. Traditional Christmas Porridge is served from 14:00 on 24 December.
