Join a fjord cruise in the UNESCO World Heritage landscape in one of the most popular fjord areas in Norway. This summer we launched "Vision of the Fjords" - a brand-new hybrid vessel with innovative Norwegian design and world-leading eco-technology. This exciting craft will take you closer to the beautiful fjord landscape, while minimising your environmental footprint.
The narrow and spectacular Nærøyfjord is surrounded by steep valley sides and snow-covered peaks that rise 1,800 metres above sea level, with thundering waterfalls and picturesque villages along the fjord. This area has been judged one of the most beautiful fjord landscapes in the world and is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
"Vision of the Fjords" defines a brand-new standard for design and technology. The vessel has been designed to maximise the tourist experience in any weather. It features high levels of comfort, large windows, and is inspired by the winding trails of steep mountain terrain. Passengers are encouraged to go out on the roof and enjoy a very different experience of nature than that offered by traditional passenger vessels.
When the vessel arrives in the most vulnerable and spectacular areas, it switches to battery power and keeps to less than 10 knots. It is then practically totally silent. All you can hear is nature itself.
We also offer fjord cruises with our classic vessels on this route, with departures from both Flåm and Gudvangen.
On our Winter Cruises, running from 1 October to 30 April, the vessels (premium or classic) may vary. We reserve the right to use different vessels from the fleet, depending on weather conditions, capacity and maintenance schedules. Changes may occur at short notice. Information about vessels in operation can be obtained by contacting our call centre.
