Throughout the year, you can visit the Flåm Railway Museum and find out more about the Flåm Railway, one of Europe's steepest railway lines and an example of Norwegian world-class engineering.

The history of the Flåm Railway

The Flåm Railway Museum gives you an insight into the building of one of Europe's steepest railway lines, the technical challenge and the people behind these impressive engineering works.

On show in the museum are an authentic El 9 locomotive, an old electric shunting engine, a number of rail inspection trolleys and different exhibitions with text, image, sound and objects. You can also experience a trip on the Flåm Railway by video.


At the end of the museum is a shop with a wide range of Flåm Railway souvenirs and articles.
