Stave churches close to Flåm
Flåm is an excellent point of departure for visiting many of the most unique stave churches in Norway. Close to Flåm are Undredal Stave Church, which is Scandinavia's smallest, and Borgund Stave Church in Lærdal, which is Norway's best-preserved stave church.
Other popular churches nearby include Vangen, Flåm and Bakka. These last three are free to visit.
If you are driving on to beautiful Sognefjord, you will also discover Kaupanger Stave Church in Kaupanger, Hopperstad Stave Church in Vik, and Urnes Stave Church in Urnes which is on UNESCO's World Heritage List. You can actually visit all these churches during a single day trip from Flåm!
